The Royal Wedding was celebrated in style at Fairmead with a tea party and games and some fabulous dressing up – as you can see from our very own Meghan and Harry (pictured).
The tea party was the idea of Primary Teacher Zoe Jackson, who joined the Fairmead staff team last term.
In class, Miss Jackson’s students discussed the idea of marriage and what it means to be married. They also researched royal weddings by watching some clips of Prince Charles’s and Princess Diana’s marriage all those years ago. The class decided they too wanted to be part of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Royal celebration so a tea party was held on the school field.
A big well done to HLTA’s Sharon Chorley and Luke Shepherd who provided some splendid cucumber sandwiches, cup cakes and of course tea and coffee.
There was plenty of games too such as Pin The Tail On The Corgi, crown making and a treasure hunt. Also on offer was story telling by Drama Therapist Tim Townsend, face painting and some music and dancing. Everyone had a brilliant time and quite a few people dressed for the occasion in patriotic red, white and blue.
