On the 23rd April we had a global day where we found out all about Africa. We did lots of different activities, including drumming, art, storytelling, football and DT.
We made our own African drums using plastic tubes. Some of us decorated our drums using material.
Some of us decorated our drums using different pens and pencils. They were very colourful!
Look at our drums!

A man named Abbas came in to show us how to do African drumming. We really enjoyed it! Abbas grew up in Africa and he told us a ll about going to school when he was a child. It was very different to going to school at Fairmead.
We learnt that in parts of Africa they play football with no shoes on. We tried it ourselves and it made it difficult.
In art we made African necklaces.
We chose our own colours and decorations.
We also coloured some traditional African masks.
