Yeovil Parent Support Group – What is Drama Therapy?

Drama Therapist Tim Townsend will be explaining the important work he does with our students at the next meeting of the Yeovil Parent Support Group this Wednesday 6.45pm – 8pm.

Tim has 15 years experience working as a state registered Drama Therapist in a variety of settings, mostly in education working with children and young people with a learning disability and/or ASD.

The purpose of drama therapy is to provide a non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and feelings in a creative and imaginative way. Tim uses stories, movement, play, sand tray and puppets to engage and work with a wide range of students here at Fairmead.

The support group is open to parents and carers of all children and young people with additional needs, whether they attend a Mainstream School, Special School or are Home Educated. Parking is available on site with refreshments provided. No need to book.

Hosting the evening in The Key Sixth Form Block will be Fairmead’s Inclusion Manager and Parent/Carer Liaison Steve Coles.  Steve is contactable on 07786992229.

Alternatively, you could contact PFSA Sharon White on 070901 850869.
