A more perfect summer evening and prom venue could not have been wished for last week as everyone gathered at Home Farm in Chilthorne Domer for food, music and lots of dancing.
Our Key Stage 4 students and sixth-formers got dressed up in elegant evening gowns and dinner jackets to bid a fond farewell to those among them who were leaving Fairmead for new horizons.
There were delicious pizzas and curry cooked in advance by students studying for their BTEC in cookery, which everyone helped themselves to from the buffet table. A DJ supplied the dance tracks and a singer/guitarist played an acoustic set. The festivities began at 6pm and finished at 9pm, with plenty of photographs taken in between to capture those special moments forever.
The prom was described as ‘completely gorgeous’ by staff and ‘amazing, awesome and the best night of my life’ by some of the students.
Thanks to the Key Stage 4 team for organising the prom, and everyone who helped out on the evening.
