Owlets love digging deep into their favourite books, and what better way to enhance their learning of ‘Dear Zoo’ than a trip to Bristol Zoo to see the animals in the book brought to life.
This term our Owlets have been enthralled by the all time children’s classic Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. First published in 1984, this clever little lift-the-flap book was probably read by our Owlets’ parents as well.
Reception Form Tutor Charlotte White has made cross curricula links to literacy, science, maths and art. The students did such lovely work that we’ve displayed it in our school corridor.
The students’ favourite part of the topic was the trip to Bristol Zoo. They enjoyed seeing all the animals and had a very exciting day out with their staff.
The children were brilliantly behaved all day, and can’t they wait to start their next book!
