Lucky Key Stage 4 and 5 students enjoyed a four day residential stay in log cabins on Exmoor as part of their National Citizen Service (NCS) project.
The NCS is open to all 16 and 17-year-olds in England and helps young people to build confidence, responsibility, team working skills, social development and self-awareness.
Following their residential trip to Exmoor, where they bonded as a team doing lots of outdoor activities, such as chopping wood for a fire using an axe, the group then had to plan a community project.
Fairmead decided that they would work on improving the garden at Abbey Residential Home in Yeovil, which they did over the course of a week.
Assistant Head Teacher and Head of Sixth Form Shaun France, supervised the Exmoor trip and the community project.
