We had a fantastic Friday last week at Fairmead because of our annual Macmillan tea, coffee and cake afternoon, which raised a wonderful £180.
Lots of our student’s parents and siblings came along to socialise over a cup of tea and slice of cake. The pace at the tea station and cake stand was go-go-go as everyone piled in the hall to grab the biggest slice of chocolate sponge or the prettiest iced cupcake.
Cakes were donated by staff, governors and parents. KS4 students working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award helped set up the hall, serve the cakes and make and pour the teas and coffees.
We would like to thank everyone who supported the event by either donating cakes or coming along to buy a cake and cuppa. It was a very pleasant start to the weekend and we helped raise a good sum of money to help support the fantastic work of the Macmillan cancer care nurses and support staff.
